Hi Jukka--

On these, I just noticed something I hadn't seen before. Scrolling down and up the screen gives them a very filmic character, adding to the sense of movement that you've already made implicit in each one by the rearrangements of the subject (letters). This sense of movement as in film, is very interesting because it changes what would otherwise have seemed fixed and compartmentalized frames into what the linguistic/sonic subject is more akin to: fluidity.

Also, I keep finding that these remind me of one of those funky horseshoe magnets that used to come with a certain kids' toy-kit full of metal filings and a sketch of a face. One places the filings randomly on the cardboard face-sketch (or they were enclosed in a clear plastic bubble covering), then one moves the filings along the face, piling them--compiling/composing them--in whatever way desired. Hours of fun, as I recall.

Thanks for this fascinating work!

Best Wishes,
Chris Murray

Chris,

Thanks, yes you're right, I try to plan each
page as a whole and the sense of movement is
usually important part of it. Glad you noticed it !

It is always nice to hear (like your horseshoe
magnets) what kind of familiar objects people
find from these (or any) strictly abstract structures.
Especially when I am not able to see any !

Thanks Chris of your comment as well your continuous
support to my work.

Jukka

oh hey, Jukka, I follow your work because it is always leading to something new and as-yet-unrecognized, even if at times I identify only with a subjective association like the iron pilings toy--I'd forgotten all about that toy, it's creative utility and the meditative spaces found via the fact of it. Jukka, in so many ways, your work rocks!

Best,

Hi Chris and Jukka, I have an entire series (please notice the _I_) on the Poets' Corner, and I said somewhere that _escludendo_ made my day. Scroll down to Kervinen, Jukka-Pekka:
